Pippa, a young Sigur Rós fan, had her wish come true By Iceland Mag 2. desember 2014 10:47 Pippa. Photo/pippa's facebook page Pippa, a young fan of the Icelandic band Sigur Rós, and her family have been enjoying their dream vacation in Iceland for the past days. Pippa was born with a Grade III brain bleed caused by a lack of oxygen. This brain injury led to her being diagnosed with cerebral palsy and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, a rare and severe form of intractable epilepsy. Pippa’s dream to visit Iceland came true after a family friend organized an online fundraiser that raised all the money for the family’s trip. Pippa’s mother, Megan Alethea Brown Hull, says the family is touched by the outpour of love they have experienced during their time in Iceland and feel like the country they already felt drawn to was embracing their girl and cared about her. The family has been on a helicopter ride, visited the iconic Hallgrímskirkja church, Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, Þingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot spring. The highlight of the family’s trip, however, was without a doubt a private tour of Sigur Rós’ studio in Mosfellsbær, called Sundlaugin (meaning the swimming pool), where Pippa got to meet her idols and their families.
