Múm opens for Sugarcubes 7. nóvember 2006 13:43 The Sugarcubes will celebrate their 2oth anniversary with a special concert on November 17th. The reunion of the Sugarcubes and their first gig in 14 years has been getting a lot of attention both in Iceland and abroad. Bad Taste Records and the Sugarcubes are proud to present the opening act of the night: múm. That will be múm's first concert this year as a band. Last time they played was in Tapei the capital of Taiwan, in December last year. Múm played a DJ set at the Summersonic festival in Tokyo and Osaka last summer and at the Isle of Wight festival in Britain last September. They also spun records at the recent Airwaves festival's opening night at Sirkus. Last time Múm played as band in Iceland was at the Krútt-festival in Snæfellsnes in August 2005 and before that at the Bæjarbíó cinema in Hafnarfjörður in August 2004. This is therefore good news for Icelandic and non-Icelandic music lovers going to the Sugarcubes reunion. A new múm album will be released early next year and the band members have been recording in Finland. The album will be quite different from other múm albums: more rock, more power. In December Fat Cat will release recordings from the BBC John Peel show from 2002, under the name múm Pell Session. FL Group is the sponsor of the Sugarcubes reunion and the Bad Taste Concert in Laugardalshöll. Tickets are still available at www.midi.is, Skífan in Kringlan and Smáralind. Price is 5000 ISK.
